This year I have made a resolution to get healthy. No if's about it ! I have been reading a fair few magazines of my Christmas break and juicing seems to be a way of getting incredible nutrients into your body for overall well being. Armed with my credit card in hand I wandered around the local mall looking for my first juicer. I had no idea how many juicers were out there and all the different kinds, prices and functions that they do, After 4 hrs of confusion I decided to return home and put a bit of research into what I required and what sort of juicer I could purchase with the budget I had.

There are basically three main types of juicers on the market Centrifugal Juicers Masticating Juicers Twin-Gear (Triturating) Juicers All are extremely good at what they do, the most popular being the Centrifugal as it is very affordable and is great for fruit and vegetables. The Masticating Juicers are a popular juicer if you are into juicing grasses and green leaves as they extract a good amount of juice from these as well as the fruit and vegetables. Twin Gear Triturating Juicers are a slow juicer and the most expensive, Because of the slow speed process the juice has less foam and oxidation and will keep in the refrigerator for a few days.

These juicers also will make milk from nuts such as almonds. Cleaning aspects were another thing that varied from juicer to juicer I wanted one I could put in the dishwasher. I wrote a list of what I wanted out of a juicer and after doing some more research on the different benefits from various fruit and vege I decided I would also like to juice some grasses. So it would have to be the masticating or Triturating or slow juicer. I ended up settling for a for the Omega vrt350 juicer at a huge savings online. I am extremely happy with my juicer and am learning each day about the different veges and the benefits in them. I guess this year its going to be a New Years Resolution I am going to be more than happy to stick with.
